born at 33 weeks

3 lb 2 ozs.

when i brought him home, he was 3 lbs 11 ozs.

brady wore this swimsuit from 8 months old until he turned FIVE!!!

where did the time go......

brady... 13 years old!!!

he may try to hide it... but brady is actually one of the sweetest, most considerate people i know. for a long time, it was just the two of us... and he got used to "taking care of mom"... now when mike's on a business trip he does the same thing! last night he brought me my night time meds.... he cleaned the kitchen... changed light bulbs... i just love that kid :)

there are times i want to .... spank him... ground him... whatever!! but for every headache he gives me, i get three smiles and five laughs!

he's so much like me. i think that's why we're so close. and that's why as he's entered this phase of INDEPENDENCE, i've been so devastated! and i REALLY don't like to think about him going to college in five years!

where did the time go?? it flew by!

you know me... always keepin' it REAL!! this morning as i was getting ready for work, i was glancing around my room.... it's "cleaning lady day" and i don't like the place to look COMPLETELY cluttered... after all, she already knows i don't clean, so i want to give off the impression i at least pick up...

the first thing that caught my eye (other than the disheveled bed) was my night stand. Lord help me! my night stand is a CONSTANT issue! so let me just show you:

i don't know what you notice first?!?! probably the lamp with NO shade!

what do we have here... lets play that game where i make a list of items and you have to FIND THEM BURIED IN THE PICTURE! this will be so fun!

there's actually waaaay more there, but why re-state the obvious! i look at this list and think "really laurie? a spoon?? and a dog brush? you don't even brush the dog!!!" one thing i'll note here... when one of the dogs runs thru the bedroom with something he shouldn't have, i often take it away and "hide it" on my nightstand. that could explain a few things.

a few weeks ago, mike asked me: "it's mostly out of curiosity that i'm asking... why do you have a bowl next to the bed with a sock in it??" (i'm laughing just thinking about that question!) are you wondering what my answer was?? i think it was something like, "well, i was eating strawberry shortcake the other night in bed... and i let the dogs lick the bowl, and it got shoved under the bed... then the dogs were playing under the bed this morning and it must have gotten shoved back out... and the sock is pretty much inexplicable" said with a shrug and a head shake ... to which my loving husband replies, "ok".
